Terms of Service
Effective November 7, 2026
These terms are an agreement between ChainPay LLC ("ChainPay") and the business using ChainPay ("you").
1. The service
ChainPay gives you one checkout, API and dashboard for accepting payments through several payment methods. For most methods, a third party moves the money: your own Stripe, Square or Amazon Pay account, Plaid for bank (ACH) payments, Square for Cash App, the customer's bank for Zelle, or a blockchain for crypto. Each provider's terms also apply when you use its method.
2. Your account
You must give accurate business details, keep your sign-in and API keys secret, and tell us at once if you think they were misused. API keys give full access to your account: never put them in a web page or app. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. You are the seller
You are the merchant of record for every sale. You are responsible for your products, prices, taxes, refunds, customer service and disputes, and for having a refund policy and terms your customers can see.
4. How each method pays you
- Cards, digital wallets, buy now pay later and Amazon Pay: paid into your own provider account, under that provider's terms.
- Local currency: a customer abroad may pay a card or wallet payment in their own currency. The price is converted at the rate shown at checkout, and the customer pays a 2% conversion fee on top.
- Crypto: sent to the wallet you set, once the payment is confirmed on-chain, less ChainPay's fee. The customer pays the network fee. A wallet address you enter is your responsibility: crypto sent to a wrong address can't be recovered. Underpayments, payments sent after the checkout expires, and wrong tokens stay at the payment's address until reviewed. ChainPay doesn't refund them automatically.
- Zelle: the customer pays you directly. You confirm in the dashboard that you received the money.
- Bank (ACH): US dollar payments of $5 or more. The customer authorizes a one-time debit of their bank account through Plaid. ACH payments usually take up to 4 business days, and the customer's bank can return one, for example as unauthorized, for up to 60 days.
5. Fees
You pay the fees for your plan (Starter, Growth, Scale or Enterprise), shown in your dashboard under Billing. Fees can differ by payment method. We will give you 30 days' notice before raising them.
6. What you may not do
You may not use ChainPay for anything illegal, for fraud, or for any business that ChainPay's payment providers (including Stripe, Plaid and Square) don't allow. You may not try to get around ChainPay's security, or use it to collect a customer's bank or card details for any purpose other than the payment.
7. Customer data
You may use customer data from ChainPay only to fulfil, support and defend your sales, and you must have a privacy policy that covers it. ChainPay handles customer data as described in its Privacy Policy.
8. Suspension and ending
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close it if you break these terms, if a provider or the law requires it, or to prevent fraud. Payments already made are still settled as described above, unless the law or a provider says otherwise.
9. Warranties and liability
ChainPay is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, ChainPay makes no warranties beyond those in these terms, and isn't responsible for a third-party provider's or a blockchain's failures, delays or fees. To the extent the law allows, ChainPay's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid ChainPay in the 12 months before the claim.
10. General
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, USA, and its courts decide any dispute. We will post changes on this page and email you before significant ones take effect. Contact:
